I do recognize that it's a good cake, but between not being a huge chocolate fan and not being a huge cake fan, I just can't get all that excited about it. The strange thing though, is that I absolutely love chocolate Brownies! It's probably a good thing that my friends and family are bigger fans of the chocolate cake because I'm less likely to overindulge (or even indulge at all really), then I would be if I was constantly making these dense, delicious chocolate brownies that I'm about to share with you here.
So be warned... coming from someone who normally can "take it or leave it" when it comes to chocolate he baked goods, these are killer. I would highly recommend that you have some notes at the ready when these things come out of the oven.
So without further ado, let's take a look at putting these puppies together.
Here's a list of ingredients you will need for Easy Chocolate Brownie Recipe :
1 2/3 cups sugar
1/2 sticks of butter (3/4 cup)
2 tablespoons of strong brewed coffee
1 tablespoon milk
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1/3 cup flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cups chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts
Grease a 9 x 13" baking pan and set your oven to 350 degrees. Combine the following ingredients together in a mixing bowl and beat well; sugar, butter, coffee and milk. Next, add the eggs and vanilla and thoroughly mix those in. Now stir in the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt, followed by the chocolate chips once everything is at a good consistency. Pour this mixture into your greased baking pan and sprinkle walnuts over the top.
Now place this into your preheated, 350 degrees oven and bake for about 20 to 22 minutes. My recommendation is to make sure you do NOT over bake these (but then again I really love gooey brownies). Cooking it the way that I do works even though I know a toothpick would not come out clean if I stuck it in to check for done-ness. If you prefer your brownies to be a little bit more on the cakey side, you might want to cook a little bit longer. But then I won't vouch for the results! Also see about Healthiest Breakfast Foods.
All directions for baking brownies would now suggest you let them cool "completely" before cutting and serving. NOT. At least, not for me... let them cool enough so that you don't burn yourself on the pan, but I do highly recommend you enjoy these while they are still nice and warm and extra gooey.
